Overview
The wireless network service provided in the public areas of Academia Sinica supports two wireless signal protocols 802.11b (Maximum transfer speed 11Mbps) and 802.11g (Maximum transfer speed 54Mbps). Users within public areas of Academia Sinica, such as conference rooms or discussion rooms, can use mobile equipments, such as notebook, cell phone and PDA, to access the Internet.
Academia Sinica's wireless network is currently under construction and hasn't been completed yet. When it is completed, it will be managed using an account authentication method.
Usage
You can find several access points (AP) while trying to localte wireless service. The choice of AP is as follows:
- Public area wireless AP SSID:
ASPublic-test
The SSID will be changed to 'ASPublic' after the wireless network for the whole campus is completed. - the Activity Center wireless AP SSID:
